Teaching Your Children To Read Try Montessori Reading and Writing

Find out How Your Children Can.....

"What You Need To Know To Survive The Future"

                                                                                               phonics for children

When you need to teach your child phonics you will need a phonics for children learning package

If your child has problems with learning to read then they most likely need phonics for children. Phonics are the building blocks for learning to read. They decode the written word into sounds and once your child

knows what letters make up what sounds then they are on the road to reading.

But it is not that simple as there are 44 different sounds to learn.

Then to read your child has to join all the phonics sounds together to make words. It takes time bit they have to do it. When you are teaching phonics for children you need a program that children will like to learn. I use the Montessori system as it is slightly different from the reading and writing versions that are available.

To Homeschooling Parents And Parents of Children who are having Problems Learning to Read

Have A look At Three Free Videos About How to Teach Your Child To Read

Video 1: Introduction To Montessori Reading.

Video 2: How To Make Sandpaper Letters.

Video 3: How To Teach Reading Using Sandpaper Letters

As has been said many times before 'a picture tells a thousand words' and these free videos do just that. They are easier to understand as you can see how to make sandpaper letters then how to teach using them.

Her system has been around for nearly 100 years so it must be pretty good to have withstood the test of time. I like the system because it uses sandpaper letters and the children learn writing while they are learning to read.

Also it can be adapted to use with whatever your child is learning at school because all you have to do is make up the words they are learning at school with the sandpaper letters.

With the internet and computers there are many phonics for children programs available and the programs I like are on our teach reading page. It doesn’t matter what phonics for children program you use, they all take time and commitment before your child can read fluently, but it is worth it.

For more information about phonics programs I recommend see our teach reading page

To have a chat to other parents and to find out more about learning to read go to our forum.

Thank you for your time
