The biggest pro for homeschooling is freedomYou can bend the rules, if your kid likes what he is doing you can keep doing it. Your children learn at their own pace and they can keep learning the same subject as long as they like. They are not controlled by the 40 minute class. I still debate whether homeschooled kids are better educated that their public school peers as most statistics seem to suggest. I would say the averages are pulled down by the kids who don’t want to learn and just disrupt the class. If these disruptive kids were not included in the test results I would say the homeschooling results and the public school results would be a lot closer. The main pros of homeschooling I think are personalized individual attention and instruction. And quality time to study without the bullying and peer pressure that is a part of the public school system. For more information about the pros of homeschooling see our Homeschooling Page.
