                                                                               spelling homework help

Every child must learn to read and write so spelling homework help is very important

Some children are natural born spellers but most of us aren’t so we have to learn it. Spelling is quite difficult as it is not always consistent. So your children can get very frustrated with spelling very easily and keep

blaming their intelligence. But it is not always anything to do with intelligence.

It is to do with phonics decoding and memorizing sight words.

For phonics I love Montessori, her teaching method using sandpaper letters can’t be beaten. I use this Montessori Reading and Writing course and it nearly took my daughter to the top of the class.

To Homeschooling Parents And Parents of Children who are having Problems Learning to Read

Have A look At Three Free Videos About How to Teach Your Child To Read

Video 2: How To Make Sandpaper Letters.

Video 3: How To Teach Reading Using Sandpaper Letters

As has been said many times before 'a picture tells a thousand words' and these free videos do just that. They are easier to understand as you can see how to make sandpaper letters then how to teach using them.

For some reason tracing sandpaper letters helps to implant the word on the child’s mind and it worked wonders. I also used the sandpaper letters for phonics and I would break the word down into syllables.

Phonics are a must and I made sure my kid could say all the phonic sounds.

For sight words and improving the child’s ability to see words use games I would use Discovery Channel’s puzzle maker or Scholastic’s spelling wizard. Here I would make up the puzzle either crossword, spelling scramble or word search, print them out and let the kid work it out. I would not make it too difficult and I would only use words she had to learn. If she did not know the word she would just give up so I always put in words she already knew. This way she at least got some correct.
