Find out How Your Children Can..... "What You Need To Know To Survive The Future" |
To make learning to read a little easier you need to try out some phonics games for kids Learning to read is not easy and it takes
time, so to make it more interesting we need some phonics
games for kids On the internet there are a number of sites that have
phonics games that kids will love to play
The best phonic game sites that my kids like to play are Starfall and Genkienglish, a site out of Japan in English. There are many other phonic game sites to teach kids phonics including, the PBS kids site, Game Goo, Scholastic and Sadlier-Oxford. Some of these phonic games are relatively simple but they all help to implant the phonics sounds onto your child’s mind.

Other phonics games your kids might like are games you can play with phonic cards, or my favorite, which is using the Montessori sandpaper letters to make up words. You say a word or phonic sound and your child has to find the correct letters. Phonic games you play with your child are probably better, as you can make up the words or sounds that your child knows. Therefore tailor making the games to suit what your child already knows. I don’t like to let my kid play games on the computer as it can be quite difficult to get the kids off the computer. Anyway nowadays I think kids spend too much time on the computer and I try to discourage it. That is why I prefer games with cards and sandpaper letters. These are easy games and they can be quite fun, like matching phonic sounds. Anyway you can start playing the game on the computer until your child has mastered the phonic sound then move onto cards or sandpaper letters.
