Before you start homeschooling you need to know some facts about homeschooling
One of the main facts about home schooling is
that it is one of the fasting growing areas of the education industry
at about 15% a year. So a lot of families
must be getting disillusioned with traditional education.
I know of solo mothers on social welfare homeschooling their kids and parents looking after large families. There seems to be no common thread as to which families try home schooling. In some cases you hear of children not fitting into the school system, or students getting bullied but it just looks like any family can homeschool.

One of the few facts about home schooling that I am not sure about is academic achievement. In the public school system there is a complete cross section of society while the homeschooling family is usually a different type of family. Also with the personalized one to one teaching you receive in the homeschool it is no wonder home schooled kids do better in tests. I like to think home schooling prepares students for the future and with distance learning becoming popular it is just a natural progression for the home schooled student. Because home schooled kids are brought up interacting with a mixed age group of people around them they are more adapted to society. Kids in school are all the same age group class so there is not too much interacting between other age groups.
