Homeschooling is the same whether it is elementary or kindergarten. It just seems to get easier as the kids get older and can start teaching and learning themselves. You will find that your kids will start to take care of

their own learning as long as they like what they are learning, and that is what you want.

In elementary homeschooling there are a few subjects your kids have to learn, and they are the 3 ‘Rs’ reading, riting and rithmetic. So you know what to do, it is just how you do it that differs. For reading and writing I use a Montessori based learning system that is very good. And for arithmetic I use a big blackboard that me and the kids can scribble all over.

This saves a lot of paper and my kids love writing on the blackboard.

As they get older there are more things to teach but if they have learnt the 3 ‘Rs’ then your life will be easier. So make sure they know how to read and write on paper as well as a keyboard. Even though it has been suggested that writing is going the way of the dinosaur, I still think it is good for the kids.

Also check your state or region regulations and do what they say.

That is very important I always do what is required and when submitting a home school curriculum I only submit the basics that will satisfy them. There can be enough problems with bureaucracy without adding to it. Also with elementary homeschooling there are a lot of specific courses that you can use.
