It seems as carbon dioxide levels increase global warming clicks in

The general consensus seems to be as carbon dioxide levels in the atmosphere increase they cause global warming. And human activities are causing carbon dioxide levels to rise. That is the theory behind Al Goreís An Inconvenient Truth movie and the scientific community is right

there behind him. They base their assumptions on the fact that carbon dioxide levels started to rise after we started to burn coal for the industrial revolution and also after we changed over to oil

We have been burning fossil fuels for over 150 years and the carbon dioxide levels in the atmosphere have been rising all that time.

Now the carbon dioxide levels are the highest they have ever been. But one thing they overlook is that the population of the world has also been increasing the same as the carbon dioxide levels. So maybe, just maybe the increase in the carbon dioxide levels could be caused by the increases in the human population. They havenít made that connection yet, but the logical way to lower the carbon dioxide levels would be to start to control the population. They showed the population graph in the movie but stopped short of saying we should do something about it.

This way there would be less human activity as there are less humans and subsequently the carbon dioxide levels should fall.

The Al Gore crowd have not made that connection yet and I wont follow them until they do. Iíll stick to the other side, which says that global warming is caused by natural cycles and we are just in a warming cycle now. That way there is very little we can do about it except be very careful where we plan to spend the rest of our lives. As the choices we make now could have disastrous consequences as the world continues to warm up.
